The Quest The Quest is an adventure game from Penguin Software. It is a two- sided disk from Dallas Snell, Joe Toler, and Joel Rea. You may have noticed that I haven't reviewed too many adventure games to this point, and for those of you who are adventure lovers, I must apoligize. I have a good number of adventures in my collection of software, but I am still a beginner when it comes to adventuring. Let me say up front that I have not yet completed this adventure, but I am still trying. (Any hints at all would be received gratefully.) I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed all my attempts to wander thru this maze and reach the desired objective. With that behind us, let me tell you that the package is exceptionally well put together. The graphics are excellent and the parser handles a large range of commands. The story, for those of you who missed the running demo that appearred in a previous SOFTDISK, begins a long time ago in a land far away. You are King Galt's newest advisor, when Lady Diana appears in the court explaining that she is to be compensation since her people cannot pay their taxes. The reason for this is a terrible dragon who has been destroying everything in sight in her southwestern province. The king after hearing her story sends her on her way, telling her to inform the people that the king's champion will be along shortly to do away with the dragon. The king then instructs his champion Gorn to take you with on a quest to end the dominion of the dragon over the people. After a stop at the provisioners for supplies, you set out on your way. This Penguin Software product retails for $19.95 and can be purchased through Softdisk (see the order blank form.) If you like adventuring, give this one a try. !
